Way Up North at the top of the world lies a village at the North Pole which is the home of Santa Claus. There in his busy workshop, many, many elves work very hard around the clock all year round making wonderful toys for all good little girls and good little boys.
There is another small place just south of the North Pole called Greenville. It is the peaceful home of many busy and happy neighbors and friends. Because this place is in the south the weather is much different than the cold, cold north. Instead, it is very sunny and warm, the perfect place for elves to go on vacation.
Sometimes, if Santa can get away he will come and visit. In these parts, Santa is known as Kris Kringle. He also has a younger brother who lives in the village. His name is Fritz Kringle.

It is three days before Christmas and there is trouble at the North Pole! Santa is sick with a bad cold and his reindeer have come down with the flu. For the first time the North Pole is forced to close its' doors! How will all good little girls and boys receive any presents?
About the Author
Mary Ellen La Porte is an accomplished musician and a gifted artist and story teller. Earning a Masters Degree in Musical Performance Ms. La Porte has taught music to school children and is also certified to coordinate a variety of programs for older adults. She has three children and five grandchildren who lovingly refer to her as their "Nana". Ms. La Porte is committed in using her creative talents and abilities to bring hope and happiness to all people of any age or with any challenges in life that they may face. A smile and a story or song will break down any walls or barriers that cause division. She believes we can only make the world better using creativity to bring about understanding, growth, love and change.
