About the Author
Mrs. Haney was born Donna Marie Collins, July 8 1931 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Donna met her husband in high school where he was a senior and she a sophomore. They were married August 25, 1950 while Pat was serving in the Korean conflict. They raised and educated four children and spent most of their lives in Canonsburg. She has owned and operated her own Beauty Shop for 32 years while her husband was a mail carrier for 38 years. She also worked along side her husband in the Min-Tow Company after Pat invented and patented the Min-Tow, a small live bait container. This business operated seasonally until his death. After her husbands' retirement from the Post Office, they spent winters at Nalcrest, a postal retirement village in Florida. Following his death, she returned there to find the strength and courage to go on. With the encouragement of the Nalcrest Writing Club, Donna worked to compile her many poems, especially those on loss, hoping to help others to find a way to cope.
