About the Book
Oliver's Wish, a charming tale told in verse, tells the story of a wooden flamingo who wished he could fly. When, through an act of nature, his wish, at last, comes true, it takes him on an adventurous and frightful flight filled with many mishaps, but in the end, the wooden flamingo, Oliver, learns who and what he is and where he truly wishes to be.
About the Author
Diane Worthen, a "Fine Arts and Design Arts" painter, while painting in the garden, became interested in the little creatures she refers to as the Others. She soon began sketching and drawing them into designs for T-shirts and cards. When a tall wooden flamingo, with creaking wings, came to 'live' in the garden, her garden family was complete. Diane has many tales of the garden in her drawer but "Oliver's Wish" is her first author/illustator children's picture book to be published.
