OPPRESSION: “Do not envy the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.” Proverbs 3:31 Beloved, here is a word you may not be familiar with, but as you advance in your studies, you will grasp the potency of this reprehensible word. It is a word that has been with us for centuries and probably will be until our Lord Jesus returns. This word carries with it a stigma anywhere where it is evident. It is a word that brutalizes and hurt those that are subjected to this word. The expression dehumanizes human beings both physically and spiritually. It is a word that has a bad taste and a in the mouth and a gnawing pain in the heart of righteous people. I want to let you know that your Maker strongly detest this word in its entirety, because it is a dehumanizing, discriminative, grave, base and ignoble act. In reality, humans beings in the universe tend to oppress one another for unjustifiable reasons. Often as a result of power over powerlessness, wealth over poverty or lack, authority over voice less, confidence over insecurity and perhaps out of sheer violence and wickedness to others of timid nature. Whichever form you witness this dastardly act, I want you to recognize it as an abominable cruelty and an act of wicked aggression and abuse which your Maker considered reprehensible and a heinous sin. The bible talks about the oppression of the Israelites by the Egyptians in the olden days. The cruelty was so intense that your Maker had to wade in through the Prophet Moses, until Pharaoh and his horsemen finally perished in the Red Sea. This incident further indicates that who ever oppresses others is bound to find total annihilation in the hands of the All Powerful God. Beloved, I admonish you to never dare, attempt or indulge in any brutal act towards your fellow man. Remember your Heavenly Father is the Omnipotent God. About the Author
Wunmi Lawal is one of several children born to a polygamous Muslim family in Lagos, Nigeria. From her early childhood, she realized her love for God though some peculiar circumstance as well as life experiences, which has had a significant impact on her faith and walk with God. Wunmi during her childhood years had a flair for writing and passion for telling her story to whoever would listen. After obtaining a graduate degree from Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas, Wunmi returned to Nigeria. While in Nigeria, Wunmi gained employment at the historical First Bank of Nigeria and voluntarily retired after ten years to pursue other challenges. Wunmi returned to the United States with her son and pursed a Post graduate degree. Wunmi felt compelled to take a deeper look at Christianity and attended the Redeemed Christian Bible College in June 2006 where she obtained a certificate in theological studies. Wunmi believes that her writings are a fulfillment of what the Holy Spirit has deemed to be her life purpose. Wunmi has since been evangelizing and written several biblical reading tracts about the gospel of Jesus and the need to pursue righteousness for the salvation of ones soul. Kingdom's Heritage will be Wunmi's first published book that is inspired by the teaching and gospel of God. Wunmi is an active member at the Georgia Avenue Baptist Church in Silver Spring, Maryland and the English language instructor. She is currently living in Maryland with her son.
