Stepping out from the end of the
garage Detective Stuart took in the
three officers slowly approaching
the man on the ground. With only a
brief glance he knew the man lying
on the ground was never going to
get up again, half of the back of his
head was gone. The loud shot he had
heard earlier was the shotgun with the
double aught shell's being fired by the
middle officer who still had his gun
leveled on the dead man.
"Cover the house! There should be
one or two other persons in the
residence. You, go around front and
tell the men when they hear my shout
they are to break down the front door,
we will do the same in the back. Go,
Go, Go." Detective Stuart waited ten
seconds before shouting the commad
and both doors came crashing down
at the same time. Detective Stuart
could hear the men calling out, "room
clear" as they slowly went from room
to room in the four-bedroom house.
Detective Stuart approached the
third bedroom when one of the officers
stumbled backwards out of the room
with his hands over his mouth. Sour
yellowish fluid was already gushing
through his fingers as he crashed
against the far wall before slumping
to the floor. The look of icy-
cold horror filled the mans eyes as he
slid to the floor. Detective Stuart
quickly stepped around him and
entered the door way to the third
bedroom, his gun pointing slightly
downward. His stomach exploded
as he dropped his gun next to where
the first officer's gun was laying, at the
same time he heard the call for an
ambulance coming from an officer in
the fourth bedroom.
Gasping for breath Detective Stuart
raised his arms to the ceiling to pull in
as much air as his lungs could take.
Turning he stepped over the officer
who was still sitting with his back
against the hall wall, still pressing
his hand against his mouth to stop the
last of the contents of his stomach
from spilling out.
Walking into the fourth bedroom he
saw two officers bent over a slightly
built man, one was wrapping a piece
of the bed sheet he had hastily ripped
apart around the mans left arm. The
other officer was doing the same with
the man's right arm.
Detective Stuart bent down and
looked into the defiant eyes of Angel
Cain.
"Pretty wasn't she," he half gasped
before passing out from loss of blood
Detective Stuart straightened up, than with all the power he could muster in his leg he kicked Angel Cain squarely across his jaw. He heard the breaking of small bones as both officers looked up in total surprise and anger. The officer nearest him leaped to his feet and grabbed the Detective in an arm lock.
"Jesus Detective! You just crushed the man's face! What in God's name do you think your doing?" When he saw the detective was not resisting him he released his grip and stepped back. "I'm putting you under arrest detective; you just assaulted a defenseless man." Turning the detective around the officer put hundcuffs on him and was about to use his shoulder mike to find out where the ambulance was when the officer sitting in the hall way walked to the front of the bedroom.
Officer Adams looked at the partner he had been riding with for nine years and things didn't click. First his friend looked bewildered and what was it with all the stains and stuff all over his uniform. "Tom take the handcuffs off the detective."
You got to be kidding Joe, you should have seen what he just did to that defenseless perp, he crushed the man's face with one kick. I'm not taking the handcuffs off for you are anyone else, he's going to jail!"
Joe took a deep breath and moved his head, telling his partner to follow him. Tom looked around at the other officer in the room and than at Detective Stuart. Looking back over at the officer leaning down by the man Tom motioned for him to secure the detective.
"I want him right here when I come back Mitch, you hear me, right here and still in cuffs." The other officer nodded and reached out for the detective's elbows as Tom followed his partner to the third bedroom. After the officer entered the third bedroom Detective Stuart could here the man gasp and than began to sob uncontrollably. Holding the detective by his elbows the last officer looked into the eyes of the detective and knew something horribly had gone wrong. When Tom returned a few minutes later the officer was shocked by the look on his face, all the blood had been drained from his features and he looked like someone had painted his face with shiny white paint. Without a word the officer took out his key and unlocked the handcuffs from around the detective's wrist..
