Congratulations! You have reached the finishing stages of putting it all together. Follow the previous manuals thoroughly, complete the exercises to the best of your ability, and move on to the final stages of connecting the horse’s body to create balance and unity. You are going to treat your horse as though he is finished throughout this manual. Raise your expectations. This manual will help you remain in control while you continue to create softness, balance, circles, lateral movements, flying change of leads, and correct canter departs. You will be combining all your riding aids to coordinate and communicate to your horse exactly what you are looking for. If, at any point in this manual, you feel as though you need to back up to a point in the training to regain control, then do so. If you run into a plateau with the training system, think about the source of the problem. Practice an exercise that allows you to develop that specific part of the horse, and then move on from there. As always, have fun and enjoy the process. Look through your journal and realize how far you have come. Praise yourself and your horse. Your horse’s training is never finished until you feel your horse is to the point you would like him to be. You are responsible for your own safety as well as your horse’s safety. Be wise about your decisions, and use common sense.
