Jeff drove to his house that night with his mind ticking. Pages were flipping by in it. His speed was slow and not hurried. The road was clear at about
some few minutes to 12 o’clock am. He moved with thoughts coming up in his mind and getting thought out. Images of Njideka formed and replayed. In all,
there was no clear thing in his mind he could lay claim to as the very issue, but somehow he felt that having the girl would be medicinal to the shock
he was passing through at the moment. Tosin of all was such a sensation and was the type anyone would whistle for on seeing, but she was gone and
Njideka was the next on line who could fill that vacuum squarely just as much as her hips filled up her skirt squarely at the back and craved for more
space, while on the process they carved out their forms and sketched out.
He moved on, with his mind reading through the lines of all that had happened presently and not too long ago. His speed was low and his hands rested on
the steering wheel curving it up or down to make a turn or get onto another side of the road as necessary. He was almost lonely on the way, for cars
were very few on it at that time of the night.
His mind turned up a soil and he remembered a scene of Tosin. It happened the previous day. He had gone to the office that morning fully tutored on
what to say to draw the girl in, and he prepared to give a test to what he had learned. He was in his office standing, with hands filled into his
pockets and one shoulder resting on one side of the window and his eyes were looking through it. One leg stood straight while the other bent akimbo and
joined it. His office seat was a bit away from him and was sucked in within the leg space hollowed out in his desk. He had pushed it in. His mind was
looking at his prospects with the girl, when she knocked and came in holding a paper to argue from. She was looking Tosin, when she came in.
The skin of her face was smooth and no grain of pimple could be picked from it, while her lips were glossy and well tarred with the lipstick make-up
matter. Her neck stood firm and turgid, while her dark, new braids of hairs draped down to her shoulders and crossed them a bit further. Her bra
received her breasts in its cups and moulded them out sensuously. The short-sleeved shirt she wore slept on the corners of her waist and its two sides
gave concave shapes. The dark skirt she put on was glossy from ironing, and her hips sucked in her skirt beneath them and cast out, so that their
shapes were well depicted. Her legs poised beautifully down to her shoes into which her feet shod.
She came in with her hips revolving, taking her waist as axle. Jeff had turned and looked at her and had become worked up. To him at that time, there
was no taking chance. He had to show a signal.
He had waited and had allowed her to speak first.
‘Sir, good morning, there is an issue here on this paper I wish to draw your attention to.’ She said and breathed the words on the paper she held up to
her front. Her steps were slowing to a halt gradually as she arrived the desk front of her MD; meanwhile, her hips wriggled in her skirt. Jeff took
this in, and his eyes blushed and suffused mist out of passion.
‘I took care of that already; I was actually thinking of asking you to come forward to pick it up.’ He said with hands in his pockets. This time he
stood normal, facing the girl.
‘Where is it sir?’ she asked.
‘You will find a scrap of paper on the desk with a pen lying on it.’ he said and added with a pointing of his finger, ‘Yes, that one.’
She picked it and he watched her. She held up the paper and looked at it for a while. She was not talking, until she was through.
‘I guess this will do.’ She said taking her hand down and making it fall on her side. She was to make a step, when he said.
‘Can I drop you off tonight on your way home?’ he delivered the speech politely.
She stood for a while, hesitating.
‘I may not like to bother you, sir.’ She said and started to go.
‘Wait a minute, Tosin.’ he said, freeing all his hands from the pockets, ‘You have not bothered me. I made the offer.’
‘I know sir, but then, I …’
‘Forget what you want to say.’ He said and paused while she watched, ‘You are my idea of a beautiful woman, Tosin. I’m afraid; I think what I’m feeling
is love.’
She listened to him and her eyes blushed, but she suppressed it.
‘May be I don’t have the mood now, sir.’
‘Call me Jeff. The feelings I have for you have melted the worker-boss border between the two of us. I think what I’m feeling is love.’ He said and
took a stroll to her front, and she moved away.
‘Sir, I have work to do. We shall talk later.’ She walked away with her hips straining her skirt. Jeff only but watched her leave.
At least I have made the first move. He had said. Later in the evening of that day, Jeff had dropped her off.
‘I shall call you later at night and send you some text messages.’ He had said to her, and a youth at the bus stop opposite the house had watched him
leave and had also watched her go into the house. Jeff had scarcely noticed him, as he drove away.
