About the Book
Christian Missions like Lutheran Church, Church of South India, Church of Christ and Pentecostals have done yeomen service to the Tribes in Inda. This book deals with persistence and change that took place in the life styles of Tribes in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. Through the spread of Christianity and modernization the tribal social customs, traditional value system and way of life have changed. In this context, it studies whether this model of development is suitable to Indian conditions and whether any changes are needed for the fulfillment of the task.
About the Author
Boddu Suvarna Kumar is the student and Research Scholar in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Andhra University. He is an excellent researcher, whose PhD was awarded ‘The Best Thesis’ by the university which earned him a GOLD MEDAL in 2007 from the University. BODDU SUVARNA KUMAR was born in 1962 in Payakaraopeta of Visakhapatnam District, attended high school in Payakaraopeta Village. He has obtained two postgraduate degrees in Religious Studies (1996) and Philosophy (2003) from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam; to his credit he obtained M.Tech(CSE) (2010) from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, and M. Div. from Asian Institute of Theology, Bangalore,. Presently he worked as President for the Hanna Charitable Trust, Correspondent for Hanna College of Education, Hanna Telugu Pandit Training College. Having a faithful Christian, Suvarna Kumar lives in Rampachodavaram with his wife Young Hanna and children Annie Keziah and Ratna Solomon.
