EPITAPH: ODE TO LOVE
Here lies Miss Lateen
Who came in at nineteen
At such tender age
On account of Tom's rage
She was his ere Tom's chum
Stole her heart from Tom
Tom, moved by love to save
Hid her in this grave
Love is bittersweet
Hate, a willing help-meet
Though of common root
One the other must loot
A RACKETY MILIEU
Pious counsel and invocations
Roar forth with threats for nonconformists;
Social gatherings provide pleasure
From deafening cacophony;
Vehicles honk irritably at each other
Amidst a missilery of angry retorts;
Neighborhood children actively display
Youths’ gaiety with bursting energy;
Market places, motor parks, marriage parties
All teem wildly with chaotic noise.
Holed up in my room, misery mounting
My noise-scarred mind intoxicates
With frustration and impotent fury
While reluctant patience drowns me.
Stench, Filth and Noise have become
High-ranking kinsmen in my milieu
But the head of the tribe is Noise.

About the Book
Song of a Baby is a collection of poems which gently weave through everyday life- people, places, nature, reminiscences and reflections. Each poem is beautiful as it is affective; the message is distinct and unconfused. In a sense, some of the poems contained in this volume are versified prose telling short stories, but with rhythm. Although rhymes may be considered pedestrian in some quarters, they nonetheless retain a quality so rare in other forms of writing. Song of a Baby features a couple of rhymes which have been carefully strung for your delight. A baby is the object of a mother’s love. Yet, in its innocence, it conceives to teach Mother about love. Song of a Baby may well be likened to thoughts of a baby in the way it modestly seeks to share passionate expressions with an already well-versed world.
