The next morning Mommy asked, “Okay kids! Are you ready to find the Valley of the Kings and see the famous ‘King Tut’ and ‘Queen Nefertiti’?”
“Oh yes!” said Zara.
“Who are Tut and Nefertiti?” asked Cam.
“Tut was a famous King and Nefertiti was a beautiful queen,” said Mommy. “They both lived a long, long time ago in Egypt. Scientists, called ‘archaeologists’, found their ancient tombs which had gorgeous paintings, gold statues, and strange writing known as ‘hieroglyphics’.’’
They found the pyramids and they were bigger than Cam and Zara even imagined. They could not believe their eyes when they saw the huge sculpture of the ‘Sphinx.’
Zara asked, “Who built all these things Daddy?”
“Nobody knows for sure,” Daddy explained. “It is a mystery. But scientists think these pyramids were built over four thousand years ago by an ancient civilization. The tallest one is called ‘The Great Pyramid of Giza.’
Cam pointed to the base of the Great Pyramid of Giza and shouted, “Look at all the camels!”
Baby camel starting jumping with excitement. “She sees her parents!” yelled Zara.
“I told you we would find them!” said Cam.
Baby camel ran over to her parents. “They all look so happy to be back together. Great job team!” said Daddy.
That night at bedtime Cam asked, “Where can we go on our next family vacation?”
Zara said she heard a story about the longest stone wall ever built. “You can see it from outer space!” she said.
“That is the ‘Great Wall of China’,” Mommy replied.
“Maybe we could go there someday,” said Daddy. “China is famous for its Panda Bears, too!”
“Yeah!” said Cam and Zara, as they drifted off to sleep, dreaming of their next travel adventure.
