The Stage of Martyrdom

Essence Of Calamity

I know not where I am,
But I think its the place I fear.
A place that seems absent of sound,
Where a very subtle gray thrives all around,
So one can’t differ sky from ground.
But for some reason I feel, that difference, doesn’t matter here.
All is very still, and my mind is empty;
Holding only occasional flashes;
Images of the events that led me to this state of absence.

Toward me came a faint light,
Which brightened as it got closer,
And she looked just like you;
This Angel of death who came to find me,
She harbored all the features of my beloved,
So It seems that even after life, my dreams are of you.
And her voice resounded beautifully, as she said,
“Lay your head upon me,
and feel my warmth within thee.
I am the answer to all of your prayers,
and I will fight away your nightmares.
Be not afraid and look at me,
for I am here to set you free.”
So I placed my hand in hers,
And we drifted for what seemed like hours,
Then together we transcended the memories of ‘ours’.
By her side everything seemed right, for upon looking at her,
I stared once more into your eyes.
The warmth of the light which radiated from her,
Filled me with the joy of our greatest days,
And as she promised, the hurt began to fade.

Now the final stop on this journey through the stars,
And I feel my Angel’s presence fading,
For I know what she has left to show me:
How you compliment white beautifully;
As the time of pretty bells draws near,
When you’ll dance with flowers in your hair.
And everyone has gathered around to cheer,
To see you on this big day.
And I can’t help but let envy sink in,
For it should be me you’re kissing.
But as that lucky guy awaits down the aisle,
It seems you’re trying hard to smile.
Perhaps at that moment you thought of me,
And the life we didn’t get to lead.
The scene begins to fade,
And my Angel starts to slip away,
I can no longer see your face;
So again I sear in my calamity,
But still I wish for you to be happy.

And through my Angel I’ve come to understand,
That although another has your hand,
Our hearts will remain eternally entangled;
And all the sins that we committed through our Love,
Will be forgiven, as we reunite in the land above.
