Eli shot out the window as fast as he could, and it seemed like he was never going to stop. I held on to his neck so tightly, I thought that I might become attached to it when the flight was over. Finally, after what seemed like forever, we stopped in front of a warehouse. And right before my eyes, another one of my premonitions came to life.
“Briana, do not advance too closely on any of the titans, because they are stronger than regular humans and more powerful than you. I do not want you to sustain any injuries, but if you must fight, remember what I taught you,” said Eli. “Keep your distance, even though, they probably are not skilled fighters. I love you.”
Eli kissed me. It was a hard and passionate kiss. It was a kiss that signaled the beginning or the end of something. The beginning of a new relationship. The end of one. The beginning of a new life. The end of a life. All of my previous dreams started to rush into my head, and I didn't feel good about this situation at all. I thought that I was going to get sick, but I managed to hold it together.
Was this going to be the end for me? I only had time to wonder this for a split second, because Eli spoke to me. “Are you ready?”
“Do I have a choice?”
Eli took my hand and ran us inside the warehouse. I looked around and saw that the fight had already commenced. Eli motioned for me to hide behind a crate. I did as he suggested. I was turned away from the fight at first. I was trying to stay hidden. Then I decided that since I was here anyway, that I may as well watch it. I peered over the top of the crate. I noticed that Tristan and three other guys were lunged in combat. They were dressed in the exact same attire that Eli usually wore when he went to battle. They all had on black. Black pants, black under shirts, long black coats, and of course, black combat boots.
They all had swords in their hands, and their arms were encrusted with the Armed Sleeve. I thought it was safe to assume that they were the backup, and they were part of the Mortalia. Everyone was moving fast, but it looked like we were winning. This fight was truly amazing; it was something that could only be seen in a movie. Super-kicks and turns, back flips and wall-walking, and incredible punches. It all had my eyes mesmerized. I definitely was enjoying the show.
After about twenty minutes, I spotted Mekkah in the crowd. One of the Mortalia members was giving him a run for his money. I thought that he was going to take Mekkah down, but nothing can ever happen that easily. Out of nowhere, two of Mekkah's men jumped on his back. That was Mekkah's cue. He slid on the floor, far enough away from the fight to conjure the staff. He hit it on the floor. The sound it made echoed through the room, and just like that, he disappeared.
I watched Mekkah trickle out of sight, and then I glanced back at the titan who was fighting him. He was beating up one of the guys that had been on his back. So another member of the Matrix came over to help the guy that he was beating up. The Matrix member jumped at him, and he slung him away. He slung him right into the direction of the crate that I was hiding behind. I jumped out of the way, barely in the nick of time. I flashed a peak at the guy that had been thrown into the crate, and from what I saw, he looked knocked out. So I threw my eyes back into the fight. After looking through the crowd for a few minutes, I spotted Eli.
“Briana!” Eli yelled out my name as if something bad had happened, or at least, it was about to happen. His face was twisted in agony, and I realized that this was the moment of truth. This was the act that could possibly end my life. I turned my head quickly in the direction of the assumed fallen titan. Well, I guess that's what I get for assuming. I looked at my enemy straight in the eyes. He was standing in front of me wielding a translucent dagger. I was scared, but I decided that I was going to fight him, anyway.
