About the Book

Jen Morrison has always thought of herself as a good person. She is a devoted mom to her son Danny and a dedicated nurse. She feels lucky in so many ways, but she's never been lucky in love. Her husband left her and their son years ago. Since then, he has re-married and started a new family. Jen is focused on her son and career, vowing not to have her heart broken again. But then a new patient is admitted to Sacramento Grace Hospital, and her life is forever changed. He is brought in after a car accident leaves him with a nasty head wound, and without a memory. He doesn't have any type of identification on him, and no one seems to know who he is. They call him the mystery man; he calls himself John. The pair quickly develop feelings for each other, but can their love last when his past comes back for him?

About the Author

I have always loved to write, and publishing my first two novels has been an incredible journey. Since Blank slate is in a hospital setting, I did some research on medical procedures. I also talked to some doctors and nurse's to get a feel for what a day in the life of a doctor might look like. Even though Sacramento Grace hospital and all of it's characters are fictional, I wanted to make it as realistic as possible. I have been a day care provider and preschool teacher for over fifteen years, and that has been a great opportunity to observe people with different personalities an a variety of situations. I studied early childhood education at American River college. I took many classes in human development, psychology, and creative writing. When people find out what I do, they usually ask me how I have time to write, with a young son. I am a mom first, and my family is everything to me. I usually do find some time when my son is napping or after he is in bed at night. Sometimes I can squeeze in a few paragraphs in between episodes of Dora the Explorer! I live in Sacramento California with my husband, Jim, my son Kyle, and my father in law. The setting for Blank slate is also in Sacramento, although some of the places mentioned in the book are fictional. I have an incredible family, and I love every one of them. As always, my sister Amanda was helpful with the editing and development of my book.
