About the Book

“For the Souls of Sisters” is a book composed of inspirational poetic perspectives. They were written from the author’s imagination and creativity. The poetry speaks to the souls, situations and experiences of “all” women. It doesn’t discriminate emotionally. It reaches out and grabs the reader by the heart. It will make you nod your head, say “aww” and leave you wondering and pondering about yourself or someone you may know. It is a MUST read. Be assured that you will find this poetry quite different from most poetry that you have read. It’s an instrument that probes deeply and vigorously into the soul. The poetry is not based on anyone’s real life experiences, but it is written from the perspective that women can, may have, and will possibly face some of the situations established within the content. It capitalizes on the souls, issues, and concerns that women may experience around the globe. The poetry is not a direct reflection of the author’s personal experiences. The perspectives and ideas were written based on struggles, issues, and situations that women or anyone could possibly encounter while on life’s journey. The ultimate goal of this book is to help women of diverse backgrounds realize and understand that we as women, regardless of race, color, or creed encounter most or all of the same issues and concerns in this world we call life. Also, the goal is to give women a place to meet and creatively connect with other women who may be experiencing some of the same issues or situations, while using the opportunity to imaginatively feel that sense of compassion for another woman someone in this world who may be sitting in a corner crying, lonely, sad, or happy.

About the Author

“Doc Robie” Dr. Mary E. Robinson was born in Alabama. She spent most of her summers as child and teenager in North Chicago, Illinois. It was during those years that she was truly exposed to cultural diversity on every level. Dr. Robinson is a two-time graduate of Alabama A. & M. University, where she completed her Bachelor’s in Social Science and Master’s in Education. She completed her Specialist’s Degree in Educational Leadership Administration and Supervision at Cambridge College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She completed her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Argosy University in Atlanta. She completed an L-5 in Educational Leadership Administration and Supervision from the State University of West Georgia at Carrollton, and she completed an ESOL Endorsement aimed at supporting English Language Learners in the areas of reading and math. During her professional tenure as an educator, she was nominated Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. She was nominated as Teacher of Year in the DeKalb County School District. She was recognized as an ALL STAR TEACHER in 2009 via Parent Recognition. In 1995, she received Superintendent Recognition via the Clayton County School District, and she received personal recognition/letter via a musical performance at Lake Ridge Elementary School from a member of the House of Representative. Dr. Robinson has worked as an educator for the past 24 years. She currently resides Georgia. She loves God’s word. She enjoys antiquing, traveling, listening to live music, singing, drumming, writing, reading, eating great food and studying historical events.
