As Becca and her father entered the front door, Stephie’s mother was sitting on the floor sobbing, trying to keep her composure. Stephie’s father was sitting beside her whispering, “I know honey. I know.” Becca’s Dad knelt down and spoke softly with so much kindness then motioned for her to move toward the door to go. As they were opening the door to leave, a tearful faint voice stopped them. “Wait just a second before you leave. Stephie would want you to have this, Becca. She was on her way to your house when the truck came out of nowhere and…..” Stephie’s mother could not hold back her tears, but managed to hand an envelope to Becca. “Thank you”, Becca said quietly, not knowing what Stephie would have wanted to give her. Stephie’s father added as they left the porch, “Becca, Stephie always really liked you”.

About the Book
Becca, now in her thirties, is desperate to find comfort and sleep as she moves to a small town once again. There she hopes to find what has been missing from her life since she left her small home town and moved to the city. Having years without peace and the ability to sleep, her days are filled with emptiness and loneliness. Drained from the struggle of life, and the decision to leave her family and friends years ago, she embarks down a road of memories and voices from her past. In a single night she must re-live all the painful memories and mistakes she has made. Alone, in the dark, in her own bedroom, she is faced with answering the question she has avoided all her life. In the end, after a night that seems as if it will never end, somehow what she had overlooked all along becomes so real that she finds herself yielding to what she knows is the only thing that can bring her peace - and finding grace that brings her restoration she never dreamed possible.
About the Author
One Night of Regrets author, Beverly Harless, was born in Rocky Mount, NC. At the age of three her family moved to Statesville, a small town fifty miles east of the Smokey Mountains. At the age of thirteen her family returned to the town in which she was born. She now resides in Spring Hope, NC with her husband Jeffrey, her daughter Alison Elizabeth and mother, Faye, whom she cares for. She had been married to her husband, Jeffrey, for eleven years. Together, they strive to live their lives with the values they hold true to. She is a mother of two daughters: Kimberly Nicole and Alison Elizabeth. Her daughter, Kimberly, resides in Southern Ohio with her husband Brandon who is the pastor of Calis Baptist Church. Alison is a sophomore at Southern Nash High School. Beverly's faith sustains her daily and allows her to do what she must do to provide for the ones God has entrusted her to care for. It is this faith that she hopes to inspire within her readers.
