About the Author
Susan Rees lives in Cadillac, Michigan. While in high school she took extra courses in child development, and also took several creative writing classes in high school and in college. She loved to read to her children when they were younger. Then started making up stories because she felt books needed to be fun, but also needed to teach life lessons. She believes life lessons should be taught without instilling fear into our children. She believes her book is able to achieve this. Younger children relate to animals, bugs, and insects. She uses insects to help teach children how to stay calm, think, and use their wits in unsafe or unfamiliar situations. She started telling her son the story of baby bee when he was two years old. This was one of his favorite stories because he not only learned things from baby bee in a fun and adventurous manner he could relate to baby bee because he was little too. There are many good children’s books that are fun to read, however, she feels children are more advanced to day and parents are looking for children’s books that are colorful and fun and that will teach life lessons and values.
