About the Book
Twenty years in Downeast Maine has inspired Jann to write poems about the beautiful scenery, animals, sights, and sounds in local towns. Nature provided her with the inspirations to see places through the eyes of a poet.
About the Author
Born in White Plains, N.Y. and moved to Connecticut at age eight, Jann Mattson was about to begin a lifetime of writing poetry. She could show you the very first poem she wrote on its original paper. After many busy years of working and raising four children alone in Florida, Jann returned to school and obtained an Associate of Arts degree and then a nursing degree. Seven years later, after a career in nursing in a Florida hospital, she had to retire due to a diagnosis of Systemic Lupus, a stroke, and other disabilities. Through these difficult years she continued to write poetry. A chap book was published while in college and she had single pieces frequently printed for special occasions. A few years ago, Jann published a "fun" book which quickly sold out. Now her love of New England, especially Downeast Maine, begins words filled with respect and emotions.
