Squirrel's Peanut Allergy

About the Book

Tanya wrote and illustrated Squirrel's Peanut Allergy to help her daughter cope with her severe peanut/nut allergy. She hopes to reach out to other families to help their children understand how to live with this allergy. Squirrel shows that by understanding her allergy, keeping her EpiPen® close by, wearing her MedicAlert® bracelet and making safe choices she and the many others like her can live safely with this life threatening allergy.

About the Author

Tanya has been drawing since she was young. After years of art classes, studying graphic design and advertising she turned to children's book illustrating. She feels a particular connection to children's illustrations as after her daughters were born she spent countless hours reading and drawing stories for them. Squirrel's Peanut Allergy was created when her oldest daughter was diagnosed with a severe peanut/nut allergy and was about to start school. Telling her daughter's story will help classmates and friends at school understand her daughter's situation and help other children with food allergies realize they are not that different after all. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada she now lives in Bermuda with her husband and two daughters.
