About the Book
Farmer Brown, Mrs. Brown and their two sons live in a beautiful little country village. One day Farmer Brown decides to purchase some chicks so he can sell brown eggs. All is well for a while, until the 25 golden hens and one white rooster grow up. Mrs. Brown is horrified to hear the hens deep in conversation one day suggesting that they peck on Mr. Rooster because he is different from them. Peer pressure rules, the golden hens rule, and Mr. Rooster is bullied “day after day, week after week, and month after month.”
Now more than ever, it is important that we talk to our children early about the harmful and sometimes even fatal effects of bullying. The Golden Rule can help you address the topic of bullying with your children and prepare you for an important conversation.
