The Happypeeps are smiling adaptable differently coloured characters intent on spreading their happiness and goodness in the world, through observing and appreciating nature and everyday experiences. I believe the simple story may provide comfort to troubled or confused minds (by parents separating, or the loss of a parent) while also having a general appeal. Though not all change can be explained, it can be accepted and I believe it could invite us to value our gift of life and our own unique journey. The vivid illustrations each contain the sun, which could represent a god, or a parent's love, and the thought of the same sun shining down on us all makes the world seem smaller (If a parent or caretaker has moved afar) The story suggests one adventure leads to another, and the world is theirs to enjoy and explore. I trust the reading experience may encourage a child to position him or herself more positively therefore better equipped for daily challenges. The message encourages trust of the world through travel, social interaction, adventure and new experience. And to encourage a child to have confidence in his or her vital role as a valuable member of society.

About the Book
The Happypeeps fall from the sky, and land on Earth. We are not sure where they come from. Bluepeep, Redpeep, Purpeep, Aquapeep and Orangepeep are so excited and feel so special to be sent on a journey by the Sun, whom assures them on their way. They know they have a humble purpose. They don’t question and accept with wonder and delight all things new to them. The Sun is big and strong, and provides guidance and comfort. They travel and learn about what some people do, make observations and wonder. The book ends in a beginning, and concludes we are all like these people of different colour and creed.
About the Author
Clia Clancy grew up in a small fishing village, on the Southwest coast of Ireland, and lived in South Africa for a part of her youth. She’s a 38 year old qualified and experienced graphic designer. Having graduated from Waterford Institute of Technology in Visual Communications, she worked in Dublin for advertising agencies illustrating and designing for various accounts in the food, travel, and children's market which brought her to London and later to Amsterdam where she spent a further 7 yrs designing and Illustrating. She returned to Ireland in 2006, and she’s now an artist / writer / illustrator in resident, in Limerick City, West of Ireland. She has a (very active) two year old daughter.
