His name was Brady O'Shea Clancy, a golden retriever. Many people knew him or had met him over the last eleven years because he was a cerified therapy pet. He was a regular visitor at Goleta Valley Cottage Hosptital in Santa Barbara, CA. visiting patients and staff. He would offer his unconditional love by leaning into them as if to say, "I understand and I'm here for you." There was laughter and were tears on our adventues in the pet therapy world. As the years passed, I realized that we also had this incredible way of communicating through thought. This is how I learned that Brady had a sense of humor as well as a special gift of knowing when someone needed his love. I had heard that agility training was also good for off leash training. He was not the fastest car on the track but he followed my leads. As I sent him into the tunnel I went to the other end for his next command. Only he didn't come out. Where is he? I waited. The trainer waited. The tunnel moved as if he was stuck, but that couldn't be. Here came Brady prancing out proud as could be with a stick in his mouth! A Golden Retriever. He retieved all right, but where he found that stick is still a mystery. A thought came through to me; "Aren't you proud Mom? No one else found a stick but me." Did I just hear my dog?

About the Book
This is not just a story about an extraordinary dog; this is a story of an extraordinary journey of two souls who found each other again, connecting in a special way. It is a celebration of his life as a therapy dog, the job he had to do, and how he chose me to help him succeed. He had an amazing ability to sense when someone was in pain, as well as having a sense of humor. I was blessed to notice this special gift in him early and am honored that I could provide an avenue for him to meet many people who just needed some unconditional love. This is from my heart to yours. Laugh, cry and enjoy our adventures.
About the Author
Our journey began eleven years ago when a little puppy melted my heart, and I realized we were able to communicate through thought. He was a natural at being a therapy pet which led to many adventures. I learned why people were so drawn to Brady, his ability to know who needed him the most, and that he had a sense of humor. I started to write our memoirs because I needed to heal my soul after he died, to remember all he gave to so many, to honor his life and smile, and not to mourn his death and cry. My husband, Gary, and I live in beautiful Santa Barbara, California, with Samantha cat, and someday, when the time is right, we will adopt another dog to join our family.
