This is the story about Little Mouse who was kept safe, warm and loved by his parents. Mother and Father Mouse knew that if he did not go outside the hole in the wall and if he would stay with them in the warm, cozy place where they lived that he would always be safe. One day, little Mouse saw that his parents were busy lining the house with wool to keep them warm for the winter. There was so much work to done before winter. Mother and Father were busy gathering little bits of food that they could carry back to the house...they would not care of even notice that he was gone. Little Mouse learns about making decisions and the consequences that follow.

About the Book
Little Mouse is anxious to leave the mouse hole and venture out into the world. Mother and Father Mouse have warned him of the dangers outside the mouse hole, but Little Mouse ignores their concerns. Out in the world, Little Mouse encounters those dangers and learns to appreciate life in the mouse hole with a family who loves you.
About the Author
As a mother, I have watched the struggles children have in making the right choices and the consequences that follow. My hope is to help children learn how to make good choices early on, which will lead to making the right decisions in the future, when those decisions carry larger consequences. Little Mouse represents my daughter and the lessons she learned about making good choices after experiencing some of the negative consequences of her actions. This book came from a journal I kept when my daughter first became an adult, making her own decisions. Even though she was dealing with bigger issues, I reflected on when she was younger and wrote stories in which Little Mouse has to make similar choices. This book has inspired me to express the messages through my other passion, quilting, and I have developed a quilt design that has blocks representing each story in the book. My husband and I live in Snohomish, Washington, and enjoy the wonderful Pacific Northwest, from the ocean to the mountains and everything in between
