“Now, Levi. I have a project for you to do that you’re not going to like but I feel that you should be the one to take this project. It’s a little different from all the other projects that I’m giving to the other students. But I know you can do it and you’ll do a good job,” his father informed him.
“Being the pastor’s son, I expected as much,” he remarked and laughed with the rest of the group. “What terrible project did you decide to give me?” He figured his dad would give him one that he knew the others wouldn’t accept but he had no idea what it would be. Levi was just a little concerned about what his father was going to tell him. It was different from the others, he said. Oh, what could he be thinking up for a project for him?
“There’s a young lady that is staying with Jacquelyn Johansen. I want you to befriend her and gradually lead her to the Lord. Now she’s been a wild gal, I admit. I don’t want to tell you too much about her but one thing for sure, the teenager needs a friend. She is going to be mowing the church lawn and making the yard look trim along with weeding the flowers. Brittany is also going to clean the church as well. She has to do 600 hours of community service that the judge assigned her to do.”
“Dad!” Levi gasped and couldn’t say anymore. The five students had agreed to do whatever their assignment was whether they liked it or not. He didn’t like the assignment. This girl was nothing but trouble and his dad wanted him to befriend her? She had been in so many foster homes and couldn’t get along with anyone. Why did his dad think he could help the troubled teenager?
How in the world was he going to get along with the rebellious teenager? Would she even listen to anything that came from the Bible? On top of all that, he’d seen Jacquelyn Johansen bring a scraggly looking girl into her home. Her blonde hair was tangled, her clothes needed washing and she looked just terrible. This scraggly girl was his project.

About the Book
Levi, as the pastor’s son, was very popular with the young people. He had no intention of getting serious with any of the girls he dated. He felt that God had called him to the ministry and his goal was to attend Mount Vernon University. While finishing the last year of his high school, the pastor selected five young people in his church who wanted to go into full time ministry and gave each of them a project to do to learn how to deal with people and how to witness. Levi listened as the pastor gave the assignments out to each student. He was shocked when his father gave him the task of befriending a girl with a bad reputation. He was to try to lead her to the Lord. He had seen the girl go into Jacquelyn Johansen’s home. She was dirty with tangled hair and looked simply terrible. How in the world was he going to accomplish his task?
