THE GOOD NEWS IS LOVE

About the Book

I want to share some Good News with you. The Good News is that Love is alive and well in the world. As the song says, “Love is the Answer” to all of the hurts, sickness, anxiety and anger in the world. Love is available to all people. Love soothes our hurts, helps to heal our sickness, and eases our anxiety. Love comforts the grieving, reduces anger, and offers hope for the future. People are hard-wired to crave love, and to respond to love by loving others. We know love is real because we have experienced it ourselves, we observe that love causes people to change their behavior, and we read about or talk to people that are in love. The Good News is that there is a higher form of Love than human love. God loves you and wants a close relationship with you. John, a follower of Jesus, said “God is Love” (1 John 4:8). John also said, “… let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God”(1 John 4:7). If God is Love, then knowing Love means that we also know God. If we believe that Love is real, if we love others and accept John’s testimony, then God is also real and has the qualities of Love that we have experienced. Love is always available, faithful, caring and true. God’s Love can bring something good out of bad situations, provide hope, and give us the strength to live through the situations. Jesus talked about and demonstrated God’s Love for all people. Jesus was the “Son of God,” which meant that he came from God and lived his life perfectly, as God wanted him to live it. He showed a new relationship with God, a relationship of Love, service, forgiveness and reconciliation. Jesus provides Love, hope, and strength that helps each person live a better life on earth, and an eternal life to come.

About the Author

Larry A. Johnson is a follower of Jesus, married for 42 years, father of two daughters and a grandfather of five. His priorities are following Jesus, loving his family and serving others. Mr. Johnson is a trustee of his local church, elder and long time choir member. He has also been an Engineering Director, Vice President and Director of Operations in various utility and engineering organizations, including private firms, local government and federal government. He has a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Johnson is now a consultant and inventor. Mr. Johnson and his wife, Joy, have lived in five states and currently reside in Palm Beach County, Florida. He enjoys boating, jogging, tennis, the beach and woodworking.
