About the Book

Little bitty Bella loves to sit inside her playpen surrounded by her favorite tiny toys. With a little teddy bear, a red ball, and a blue rattle that sounds like a bell to keep her company, Bella is so happy. But when one-year-old Bella peers over the top of her miniature playpen, her eyes grow in amazement, for only a few steps away, there is a world filled with so much more to see!

A king-sized chair sits in one corner. Books stand at attention on a shelf. A pair of very large sneakers occupies the floor. And when her grandparents come to visit, Bella has to look way up, just to see her grandpa’s gigantic mustache and her grandma’s massive hat. Her mother’s hands look enormous when she picks Bella up for a hug, and even the shaggy dog looks big as he sleeps on the rug.

In this charming children’s tale, a tiny little baby discovers the vast world just outside her playpen is exciting, fun, and just waiting to be explored!

Sue Hansen has been a freelance writer for regional and national publications for more than twenty-five years. She and her photographer husband, Eric, travel via trailer with their yellow lab, Sadie, in search of interesting people and wild places. Sue resides in Corvallis, Oregon.

Illustrator Ginny Sheldon began her career in art as a child by breaking crayons in half and coloring outside the lines. She is interested in life drawing, portraiture, colored paper collage, and pottery. Ginny and her husband, Alan, have two adult sons and live in Corvallis, Oregon.
