About the Book

“With the world’s growing interest in changing climatic conditions, Meltin: The Iceberg intends to give elementary aged school children a fun read on the impact which global warming is having upon Arctic glaciers. William Bishop, author, hopes that both parents and children alike will view this book as an awareness of just some of the hazards which a typical iceberg may encounter en-route to its ultimate collapse. Join a voyage of survival with a friendly berg named Meltin and his sea companions, with the will to endure a better fate.”

About the Author

I am a Teacher by profession, but a Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager in my current employment/practice. As such, I have the pleasure of educating mixed with a passion for environmental protection. By utilizing both of these disciplines, I desire to bring attention to our children about what occurs annually off the coast of my home province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. An occurance which is magnificant and and a marvel to observe, but which is being expedited by global warming. By bringing attention to what typically happens to an iceberg, I wish to generate interest in our young children as to their future concern for climactic change. I am the father of two wonderful teenagers (one of whom aided me in the illustration of this children's book -- Kristen), and a beautiful wife (Barbara) of 20 years.
