My heart goes out to you in your confusion and your fears It aches for you in your loneliness and tears I feel the pain and the frustration in your conviction of the things That you have not done That are not yet real I worry that you may come to harm Whilst you still live alone And fear that one day soon you may have to leave your home Most of all I fear That as you near the end You will no longer recognise me As your friend

About the Book
I have been writing poetry since the early sixties, and when I published my first book in 2008, it was like a dream come true. At seventy-four years of age, I felt that at last I had achieved something in my life, even though the real reason that I had done it in the first place was quite simple. I just wanted a professionally printed book to give to my children and grandchildren; AuthorHouse did that for me. Now at almost seventy-eight, I am venturing out into the public once more with my Yorkshire-based poetry, which hopefully will reach a wider audience this time around.
