When we finally crawled into our bed after four days of travel from up north. we were so tired we must have passed out! In the morning I awoke to something tickling my toes. When I pulled back the sheets, I saw a tiny gecko wiggling around. I have never moved so quickly in my life, screaming and running down the hallway. My husband did not know what was happening! By the time I had nerve enough to check out the bed, the little critter was gone. We never saw him again!

About the Book
"The Joy Of Florida R V Park Living" is a collection of experiences in a 55-plus community in Southwest Florida. It takes place during the author's retirement from the frigid Upper Peninsula of Michigan to balmy North Fort Myers. Included are many home recipes and humorous stories depicting life in a quaint RV park!
About the Author
Susan Halverson spent all of her pre-retirement life in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in the little town of Iron River. After graduating from Ferris State University, Big Rapids, Michigan, with a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education (biology and math) and graduate work at Northern Michigan University, Marquette, Michigan, she taught at Forest Park, Crystal Falls, Michigan, for many years until her retirement. She wrote a book entitled "The Country Sampler", reflecting her memories of growing up in the country of Upper Michigan. Since moving to North Fort Myers, Florida, she decided to author a book on her experiences in an RV park, a completely different way of life! Susan is married to Don Halverson, a retired coach and teacher originally from Stambaugh, Michigan, has two sons-Toby and Travis, two stepdaughters-Julie and Cindy, a stepson Pat, two daughters-in-law, Kathy and Stephanie, and three grandchildren-Kirsten, Sean, and Ava. From a little country girl to a Florida beachcomber, life is complete!
