About the Book
This book is a collection of poetry and experiences related by a Florida Cowboy. The Author explains the inspiration that led to most of these poems, and includes a brief personal history of himself and the cattle industry in the state of Florida in his Introduction to the book. He will continue writing poetry, as this has become a part of his life. About the Author
The Author is a 7th generation Florida Cowboy who left home in 1967 to join the United States Air Force. He remained in the military until he retired in 1987. In 1993, he relocated his family to College Station, Texas, as an employee of Texas A&M University. David has been writing since high school, and since 1977 his writing efforts have been directed mostly towards poetry. In 2000, after a five way heart bypass, be began writing short stories about his life. This was done as a biography to leave for his grandchildren. Some of these short stories will soon follow this book of poetry into print. After retiring from Texas A&M University, David plans to continue his writing. He will also be releasing a cookbook titled “Dinner on the Grounds”. He will continue writing poetry, as this has become a part of his life.
