Benny and Bugsy

Benny and Bugsy weren’t just best friends; they were also first cousins. Benny’s dad and Bugsy’s dad were brothers. Benny has a brother and a sister. Bugsy has six brothers and one sister. Benny loves to ride his bike, and so does Bugsy.
One day, Benny and Bugsy decided to ride their bikes across the train tracks and down to the river—two things they were forbidden to do. Their mothers had told them never to go over the train tracks or down to the river. But today was a special day. It was their favorite uncle’s birthday, and they wanted to catch a really big bullfrog for him. He used to tell Benny and Bugsy about a big, big bullfrog he caught down by the river when he was a kid. He told them all about how he taught the frog to ride a bike. Then one day, he left for school, and when he got home, the frog had left a letter saying how much he loved the uncle, but he had to go back to the river because he missed his brothers and mom and dad.
