About the Book
Benjamin, a fifth grade boy who is noticeably overweight and subjected to teasing on a daily basis, is the main character in this true story. Benjamin is so tortured by Joey, the class bully, that he would rather be tardy every day and suffer punishment from his teacher than be confronted by Joey and other classmates. A fragile Monarch butterfly becomes Benjamin's savior via a unique set of circumstances.
