Book Preview There was such a racket in the trees around me and on the ground. I dared not move a muscle and hoped not to be seen. Then I heard a very loud whoooo whoooo sound just a few trees over. Hmmmm, a new one for me. Apparently this beast wanted to know who someone was, and I so hoped it was not me! I certainly was not offering to introduce myself, and hoped it would not become a requirement at any point.

About the Book

About the Author
The author is forty-six years old, a mother of three, and a grandmother of three. She is a nurse of twenty years with a great passion for people. However, animals have been a great love of hers since she was a little girl, especially cats, among the domestic animals. She developed a huge interest in marine life as well at about the age of ten. This developed into a fascination with dolphins and, especially, sharks. For a short time her dream was to become an oceanographer. Jacques Cousteau figured prominently as an awe-inspiring idol when the author was growing up. Later, when the dream of being an oceanographer did not come to fruition, the thought of possibly venturing into marine biology came along. Working with the aquatic life in a secured setting seemed an exciting fit, but then family came along, and so life’s course went a different route yet again. The author enjoys the deer, squirrels, chipmunks, groundhogs, and beautiful songbirds and hummingbirds where she lives and has placed feeders everywhere for these treasured birds so that they are part of her daily life. Alongside her love for animals has been the desire to share them with her family and friends through her writing. She says, “I often watch animals and wonder what they are thinking, and I get a kick out of coming up with cute voices for them or hearing others mimic their thoughts and possible words if they could talk. I truly hope many will enjoy this book, and those to follow, as I will enjoy bringing them to the public. This has been an exciting and sometimes bumpy road, but oh so worth every minute of it, and I look forward to the future.”
