About the Book

Petey, a young great horned owl can't hoot. Feeling like a failure, sad and alone, he leaves the nest. Petey is a very helpful little owl and he ends up making friends with other woodland animals. They share many adventures as he comes up with creative solutions to problems. He demonstrates the value of accepting others as they are.

About the Author

Judy Stumbo, a lifelong resident of Iowa, lives on a small farm with her husband Jerry and a menagerie of animals. She graduated from Iowa State University with BS and MS degrees in Education. She taught special education for several years before transitioning to a career in the financial services industry. When Judy’s sons were little, in addition to regular reading of bedtime stories, she often made up stories for them. The adventures of Petey the owl were their favorites.
