For the Love of Cub Scouts

Our Scout’s uniforms also represented the brand for our Pack. • Badges of rank were earned each year • Arrow Points were earned via Den plans as well as through the personal interests and initiative of individual Scouts • Religious Emblems and Belt Loops express the individual Scout’s interests and initiative • Recruiter Strips (with Cub Scout devices used to represent multiples) show how we so quickly grew our Pack. Most of our Scouts earned these since they naturally wanted their friends to join in the fun. • Outdoor Activity Award on pocket flap showed we were active outside. In addition to other outings, we used the Cub Adventure Camp venues at Camp Cutler, located in Naples, N.Y. each spring and fall. Many of our Scouts also attended the summer program at this Seneca Waterways Council Reservation. • Good Turn for America patch demonstrated service to others • Leave No Trace patch demonstrated responsibility for the environment and an interest in ecology • Quality Unit patches were displayed on the right sleeve • One of our activities was helping Scouts make their own neckerchief slide. These were easy and inexpensive to make, did not slide off during activities (how many metal neckerchief slides have you found or replaced?) and did not need to be replaced each year with rank advancement. • Over 85% of our Scouts earned these badges through the design of our annual program plan.
