“Don’t worry, Penny” said Little Lemon, “We can show you everything on your first day of kindergarten. You can meet all our friends, and where we like to sit at lunch.” “Yeah” added Strawberry Sam, “It’ll be great, you’ll see. We’ll cheer you up in no time!” That day at school, Little Lemon was determined to make Penny the Peach happy, but nothing she did seemed to help. She gave her a slice of her pizza at lunch, but she was still sad. She showed her where to find the prettiest daisies on the playground, but Penny was still sad. She even showed her her favorite tire swing...but Penny was still sad. What could Penny possibly be sad about? Little Lemon decided she was going to find out for sure.

About the Book
After Little Lemon and her family settle into their new home, Little Lemon is introduced to the new neighbors and their daughter, who unlike Little Lemon, is shy and slow to make new friends. Being a chipper, spunky girl, Little Lemon must do what she can to make her new friend feel welcome…but what will it take? In this heart warming story about friendship and helping others, Little Lemon not only brings a smile to your face but also teaches children the importance of friendship amongst their peers and lending a helping hand when needed in order to strengthen those friendships.
About the Author
Heather McCuiston started writing as a young child, ever since she was able to hold a pencil. She published her first book, Father Find Me, when she was 16 and in high school. By the time she was 20 years old, she had published over 50 articles on various news portals online . Now an emerging young adult, Heather has once again aspired, this time publishing a children's picture book series. She currently studies early childhood development at UNC-Greensboro, where she has fallen in love with understanding children and the way they think. "Little Lemon is designed to inspire young minds" she says, "Not just to stimulate the imagination, but also to motivate them to dream big." As a child who dreamed big herself, Heather now reaches out to children and their families through her writing.
