The Flowers That Softly Spoke

Do you believe that flowers speak? You may smile a bit at the thought and reply, “Yes, flowers sometimes nod in the soft summer breeze, but to speak? Well hardly.” But Wait! In the soft whispers and nudges through the different seasons of my life, being a wife, raising a family and fulfilling my place in the community, God has sometimes used the quietness of nature and the life of these colorful plants to speak, if you will, teaching valuable lessons that I sorely needed to learn. My flower garden is always one of my favorite places to be. There as I work planting, weeding and caring tenderly for each plant I experience the majestic orchestration of nature, demonstrated through birth, growth, joy of success, and yes, even the bittersweet taste of death, but always a hope of resurrection. Just as there are seasons in nature, there are seasons of life and we can experience a steadfast faithfulness even in the winters of our life and know it all works together for our Creator’s purpose. My experiences have also taught me that sometimes flowers have a magical message too, that drive a point home where otherwise I just couldn’t seem to get it! You will find intermingled within these pages the stories that they had to tell of: Relationships as life unfolds through interaction with others. Growth and Opportunities that expand our being so that we can make positive contributions to the world. Perseverance which calls us to deal with situations that might not be of our choosing, but can nourish us to greater stability and attainment when we have stood the test. Hope that there can always be redemption in tomorrow, whether in this life or the next.
