This book is the first of many which is written for children to understand a little about medical tests and dealing with scars. I had open heart surgery as a child and went through many of these procedures. I also worked in the medical field for some time. This is a simple story of one of the hens telling how she came about her scar. The preparation for her surgery, the x-ray and just a pinch about blood work. Beautiful and funny illustrations, which are drawn with colored pencil.

About the Book
Book #3 is filled with many lessons which involve medical issues. As a child with a heart defect, I remember going through medical procedures and test which left me with scars that saved my life. Told through one of our hens, that in fact, has a scar. With a sense of humor and colorful illustrations, she tells the story to her animal friends, about how she came about her scar and the medical procedures she went through. She realizes the scar is what helped her to have a normal life and how the medical staff made her feel safe. This story has many lessons. More stories about other test to follow. Dedicated to my parents, my family, my friends, and all the medical staff that took care of me.
About the Author
As a mother and grandmother, I see books as a great way to communicate with our children and reinforce the lessons of life. We have a small ranch in New Mexico on which we have several types of animals. I enjoy watching them with all their personalities. I want to write books which make our children and grandchildren laugh with us as we read to them. My husband and I are blessed with five children between us, four which are grown. Trey, Elizabeth, Christie, Sara and the youngest Joshua. Two grandchildren Jeremiah and Holly Mae. My husband, Joshua and I moved from our home on the Panhandle of Florida in 2010 to a quaint town in East New Mexico due to my husbands job on the base. I look at it as another adventure in life. We never know what our creator has planned for us. I have worked in the medical field for most of my adult life. This chapter in life has me writing stories for children, which I so enjoy.
