About the Author
I am writing this book to help those out there who have been hurt by those that are supposed to protect us. Growing up was never easy. I grew up in a dysfunctional family with divorced parents. My siblings and I sufferered abuse, neglect, and hurt through out the years. Sometimes we feel alone, abandoned, and worthless and that is why I wrote this book. I want you to know that you are not alone and what happened to you was not your fault. It was the monster that hurt you. Everthing happens for a reason and I believe God wanted these things to happen so I could have empathy and compassion for others like me. My biggest goal in life is to help people. I am a mother of 2 beautiful boys. I am going to school for an associates degree in Counceling. My husband is currently serving in Active Duty Army. I enlisted into the Navy the year I graduated from High School but got a medical discharge. I volunteer with the AMVETS (American Veterans), disabled veterans, and when I get my degree for counceling I want to help those soldiers coming back home transfer back into civilian life. If you get anything out of my book I hope that is forgiveness, not for the monster that hurt you; but for yourself. I would like you to remember this quote "it's not the past that creates your future. It's what you do with your past that creates your character." - Angelica Spaulding
