My Dog Tippy

About the Book

My book is about my first dog I ever raised from a puppy. His name was Tippy, he had many adventures in his 17 years of life. And he lived two years longer than any other beagle we had. The rest lived to about 15 years. He may have made it even longer if he had not met his end by being hit by a car. He was the most beautiful beagle we ever had. And one of the most intelligent. His only draw back was he was a biter. But he never really bit anyone except our one neighbor boy who teased him all the time. So I feel it was well deserved.

About the Author

I was about seven when I got Tippy. And we were inseparable from the start. I now am 59 years old am married with one son who is 27 we live in a small town in Southern NJ. I was told I should write by my tenth grade English teacher Mr. Brett. He used to give us a challenge every Friday before our class was over we had to write at least a paragraph the last ten minutes of the class we didn't have to finish but we had to at least write one paragraph. I would have two pages written in those ten minutes. He would say how do you do that I said stories just pop into my head and I just start writing. He teased me because I told him I wanted to be a girl race car driver not a writer. I guess he won.
