Many are the searching hearts of the world
Seeking their own deceptive pearl
Can it be found just in books?
Maybe that’s another way to a nook
Show me your worldly possessions
Will you not find endless depression?
Is it found in religion or secular society?
Maybe that’s another way of piety
Oh many searching hearts
How will you ever escape the dark?
For now one less heart of the earth
Has found that spiritual second birth
For it is through one name
The human heart finds ultimate gain
Yes for salvation he paid the price
Oh that precious name of Jesus Christ

About the Author
Kenneth J. Berthel grew up in Delmar, Iowa, and came from a family of eight brothers and four sisters. He received a BA from St. Ambrose University in 1975 and taught high school chemistry and math until 2007.
