A Catholic School run by the Allegany Franciscan Sisters in the 1950's is the setting of this author's inspiration to write about three Sisters living and teaching there in 1958. Each Sister had the name "Therese" as part of her Religious name.This is not an ordinary type of book. Its pages contain poetry about each Sister and water-color and pencil renditions of their lives before they entered the Community. When they were Postulants, Novices, and Professed Sisters, each had a different story to tell. It is a pictorial story of their prayer life, work life, and the fun side of their chosen life.

Do you know the Allegany Franciscan Sisters in Western New York? They are a Community of Religious serving in the USA,Jamaica,BWI, Bolivia and Brazil. This story written in poetry with artistic renditions, and photos tells how 3 girls came from different walks of life, entered a Convent to become Postulants, Novices,and Professed Sisters within a span of 8 years.These Sisters prayed, played and worked hard having a lot of fun along the way.,Two have since gone to their Heavenly reward while the third, no longer in the Community, but still a part of it, writes about the Sisters.
About the Author
Dr. Estelle Wade-Crino has reinvented herself in several ways. She is a retired public school teacher, administrator, adjunct professor, artist, and writer. For the past 16 years she has owned, and managed Pinewoods Cottage Bed and Breakfast which she planned, and had built on 20 acres of pine trees and woodlands.Estelle’s educational career spans 45 years,having taught in Massachusetts,New Jersey, NewYork, and Florida. Estelle entered the Allegany Franciscan Community and spent 19 years of her teaching career as a member of this beloved Community. It was in one of her teaching assignments, she composed her “Before and After” book. Estelle is a widow since 1984 and will be ever grateful to her dear husband, Ben who helped her achieve and supported many of her goals..
