About the Book
An inspirational gift of God at age sixty-two, when life seemed not worth living.
God gave me inspirational poetry at age sixty-two, when life didn’t seem worth living, for inspiration, guidance, and comfort for me and others.
About the Author
Almost twenty-five years ago, when God revealed the words for my first poem, “Tears in the Night,” I didn’t dream He would give me more than enough poems for this, my seventh book, including:
“Need a Rainbow in your Cloud?” “Sharing my Rainbow of Faith” “God’s Rainbow Covenant” “Rainbow beyond the Cross” “My Rainbow Walk with God” “Indiana Rainbow” “My Rainbow of God’s Love”
Why should God pick me for this honor? There are many more worthy than me, one of thirteen children with two sets of twins. Dad worked at the paper mill, and we eked out a living off the sixty-nine-acre farm he inherited.
I attended Youngstown Grade School and then graduated from Honey Creek High School in 1945. I started at Indiana State Teachers College but didn’t know what I wanted to be. I married a soldier returning from World War II. We raised five children and lost twin boys who were born too soon. I divorced after twenty-three years and remained single for seven years. Then I met a Christian man who needed a wife on his dairy farm in Bloomer, Wisconsin. That marriage lasted seven years. Despairing, I sought a fuller life with God. The poetry began two years later in March 1988.
Pastor Timblin encouraged me to publish my poems so they wouldn’t be lost. With his encouragement, I gathered information as to how and did it. What a blessing to see each book published.
What a journey this has been!
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our afflictions, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation which we ourselves are consoled by God” (II Cor. 1:3-4 NRSV).
