IN HIS EMBRACE
In the sweet embrace of Jesus; And the sweet surroundings of God; Your walk on earth can be heavenly, And the path so heavenly trod,
Trusting in His existence Believing in His word; Is all so supernatural, And the best I ever heard.
With the turmoil we oft encounter; It’s so easy to slip away. In the sweet embrace of Jesus, He is there to save the day.
On our path, He travels with us. He holds our hand with love. With His strength, He does uphold us, Showering mercy from above.
In the sweet embrace of Jesus And the sweet embrace of God; We are wrapped so close up to them, And our path so heavenly trod.

About the Book
These are poems that I have written through the past several years, inspired by God, family, friends and life experience. My mamaw had the first influence on this gift, as my parents noticed that I had several of her habits when I got a thought about something to write about. I almost duplicated two of her poems that had been buried deep in one of her trunks for many years. Amazing as this sounds, this convinced my parents that my “gift” was definitely “Mamaw-inspired.” I was often referred to as “Little Lelah” because of this God-given gift. Here I am today and ready to “write and roll” with my publication of In His Embrace.

Writing poetry has always been a source of joy to me. After writing for many years, I realized that my love for poetry was inspired by my mamaw Holmes. I would like to thank her and God for the gift of expressing my innermost feelings of poetry to inspire others.
