To the pilgrim one thing has become crystal clear--- Jesus Christ is the only fire escape we have, and is the only real life insurance available in this life. These can only be gained by obeying the Will of God in daily life. One cannot be a Christian unless he does follow Jesus for real....fully and all the way. (no cope outs) Jesus came not to do away with the Divine Law, but to fulfil it. His testimony backs it up too. Even while on the path of seeking the pilgrim is obligated to help those suffering if he can. While wandering, I suddenly came across Richard Gay, sitting in a car with smoking tires, on the steel matting of a bridge. He appeared sort of dazed. "What is happening here?" I inquired. "Just tried to crash the bridge and kill myself!" he replied. "We need to talk awhile," I told him. "What is wrong?" "I am a CIA person. My whole life has just gone to hell. I can't take it anymore!" "Tell me about it. Might be able to help some perhaps. Am an old Marine." "Ok....come on home with me, and check things out." He had a wine cellar. He had a bad wife. He had a spirit temple from Asia. The wine cellar was drowning him. The wife was driving him up the wall. The temple (not obvious) was doing something too. The mental load of stuff (absolutely forbidden to speak about) from the war was a heavy burden. He spoke 16 languages, and did interpretations for the big generals. (everyone who came to talk with him was being checked out by the FBI. A permanent watch was put upon him.) "Ok skip the war stuff." I advised. You have to get rid of the wine cellar. It is not good anyway. Get rid of the wife. (he found her working in a tavern...his father said she was a real bitch) Throw that temple trophy away...out of the house into the sea. Why did you bring that back anyway?" "They do not check anyone like me. Diplomatic Immunity. Just picked it up for a curiosity to have around the house." "There are real spooks," I informed him. "I am known as the Grand Spook of the CIA." "That is different. Just a term of reference? It is because they do not allow you to function as a human being anymore?" "Something like that. Words can fun foul. Am changing my name to Guay. There are those who take my name now as an advertisement." Richard went into a church, put robes on, and sang in the choir. He married a blue blood woman from Bar Harbor, Maine. She makes him happy. They set up a bed and breakfast I town. I felt good in the spirit. Saved a physical life anyway. When he visits, we go to obscure restaurants where he speaks with the owners and they are amazed he can do so.

About the Author
The author is now 94 years old, with vast experience in the religions and the various churches. He is still a newspaperman whose habit in writing is to be accurate. He set out to be a pilgrim seeker of real Reality...which made this book. Being a Northwestern University student, good looking, and a strong speaker, he could have attended the famous School of Speech (which made a number of the top movie stars) and then headed for Hollywood, but instead he studied at the Medill School of Journalism and became a writer. This was the right choice.....as later he visited Hollywood and definitely did not like the way of life there. He prefers to be on the spiritual plateau rather than the mental or physical one below. He has fashioned his life accordingly, which reflects in all of his writings. A few persons in the hometown of Oak Lawn, Illinois claimed his books changed their lives. In his travels over half the world he has visited most of the cults and churches, direct and extensively. During the Great World War he was a Guadalcanal Marine, right in the thick of the action. He was fortunate in not having to kill anyone....which he claims came about because of his personal protection under the Holy Spirit and his full trust in God. Henderson Field was the key to the Pacific War, and his service was to help keep it in operation. He is certain that people today are free because of the small group of Marines that kept the Japs from retaking the field. One of his books is "Guadalcanal-- the island of death."
