Rather, smile, show me your bliss Do not fret, do not miss Close your eyes, I am not far I’m in the clouds, the trees, the stars Live on as if I were by your side I never left; I never died. Reminiscing fragments of shadows past Blurry and obsolete, horizons so vast Yearning, violently to place the pieces To smooth the cracks, erase the creases Of memories shattered, willing them to mind All of the emotion and life left behind Desiring these recollections to fall in place To hear a voice, recognize a face To put into motion that which moves no more The very pieces that held life once before Time has a way of silencing what we feel Muting reality, burying what was real Replacing yesterday with days to come The future awaits to which we must succumb Selfishly robbing us of our tributes Saturating our minds, memories dilute Stuck in the present making memories fresh In time deteriorating together they mesh.

About the Book
A collection of poems, throughout a growing expansion, depicting the struggles and distress one must face generally in life, and especially at the loss of a loved one. However unexpected a tragedy, these poems seek to aid those in voicing their intangible feelings and invoking in others the same release, and the same hope that is instinctively bottled up in self-desolation when despair strikes. This book of poems aspires to reflect on the pain that suppresses the hope we all once held close, while simultaneously instilling faith and recalling the benevolence of life we all so deserve.
About the Author
Andrea Kurylas, aged 20, is currently a student at the University of Maryland. She was born and raised in Gambrills, Maryland, and has been writing poetry since the age of 6. Having lost her one and only older brother, Stephan, in 2011, she has dedicated her writing to the heartache of grief and faith in healing. She wishes to instill in others the cries that they cannot voice and the hope that has yet to be seen.
