Who's in Charge Wilderness Change and Evolution

Chapter One Evolution and Adaptation (the way of life on planet earth) Life on planet earth has been in a constant state of change, evolution, and adaptation from its very beginning. Our delicate planet was built a few billion years back when a host of cosmic collisions took place at just the right time, in just the right place, and in just the right order to nurture life. Once the right biological and environmental conditions were in place, animal life on earth began (evolved) around 500 million years ago with creatures like the trilobite. Later animals ventured from the sea to begin life on solid ground and life on land began to flourish. The Carboniferous Era brought about some of earth's most dramatic animal and environmental changes on land, sea, and in the air with its high oxygen levels and abundant fauna. Animal evolution advanced on to dinosaurs followed by some very interesting animal adaptations that began after the demise of the giant dinosaurs. Eventually global evolution developed human life forms. It has been a process of constant change.
