About the Author

V. E. Swanigan is a Poet, Painter, Community Activist, and Attorney. She has a J.D. from Northern Illinois University, and a Master’s Degree in Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology-Fresno. V. E. Swanigan has witnessed and experienced diverse opinions, viewpoints and perspectives from her life and career that she pours into her work. Despite personal struggles, she continues to live her life believing in love, passion, and freedom of expression. V. E. Swanigan has been writing poetry since she was 11 years old, and heard her first Maya Angelou poem Phenomenal Women. She took the words from that poem, and has always aimed to be exceptional, successful and phenomenal in her own way. She hopes to give the world a piece of what she has seen and experienced from the good to the bad to the ugly and the beautiful. She lives by the rule of “Love Life” as she has faced death and battled to live, and she now hopes that everyone learns to value life and healthy living more than they value other things. V. E. Swanigan hopes that her works encourage, motivates, and gives a sense of hope for a better future, for improvement of self, and most importantly that love can be obtained. “Love Life and Much Love to You!!” – V.
