About the Book

Passion Laughs Out Loud!, a sequel to A Passion For poetry, is a collection of 1039 poems to encourage. It is not a joke book. It’s more about the importance of laughter, when to laugh and who should laugh. Not all, not many, of the poems will make you laugh—some may make you cry; but they all will make you think. It revels in the beauty of nature; it honors God, country and the human spirit. It’s about following your dreams without letting anything stop you. It’s about courage, about life, about love; and about the importance of poetry, tips for writing poetry, and the role it plays in all our lives.

About the Author

Born Marilyn Foster, married Glenn, 1965, widowed in 2006; married Walt McIlmurray in 2011, divorced in 2012—an unnatural loss, one that stirred up questions and emotions, which of course, turned into poetry. Garrison was born, educated and has lived in a fifty-mile radius for 69 years; has a BAA in design engineering and Ph.D. in Biblical Studies. She has been a Michigan poet for over 50 years, a teacher for 42 years, drama coach for 30 plus years, creative writing teacher for 10 years. She writes books, plays, articles, poems, teaches seminars and poetry workshops; adjudicates art, debate and music; and does architectural drawings and paints on commission. “I surprise myself when I write—I sit down with pen and page and never know what’s going to come out. If I had lived in Poe’s day, I would’ve been labeled as a romantic or dark poet such as Poe and Hawthorne; but, like Emerson, I also write many poems about nature.”
