The “End of Days” has held the interest of most Christians for the last 1000 years. Some interpreted the events of Napoleon as being the end of days during the Napoleonic Wars in France, and some believed that Hitler was the Anti-Christ to come. Theologians and historians have tried to supply information to the general public about their interpretation of when the end of days will occur. In this author’s reading of some of the more popular writers about the Biblical prophecies of the days to come, I have found that I was left just as confused as before. Very few would offer any real reliable dates and the few that have, have looked pretty foolish when their dates came and went without the return of the Messiah or the Great Resurrection.
It is the common belief that most of the events in the Book of Revelation would take place during the last 7 to 10 years, (the last 7 being referred to as the Great Tribulation or in Jewish terms, the time of Jacob’s Trouble). Daniel further defines this last week as taking place sometime after the Messiah is “Cut off” (crucified). The end of days are believed to be the last days before the wrath of HaShem (God) fulfills the time of the Book of Revelations, Ezekiel, Daniel, and Jeremiah, not to mention a few other Old Testament prophets. It is my hope to add some clarity to the predictions and offer some clearer understanding.
I know that a lot of attention is often paid by modern writers, like Tim LaHaye and Hal Lindsey on particulars about the end times. The gathering of the vultures and the fact that Russians are now building weapons that will burn, as predicted in the last war where the Israelites will be able to burn weapons for many years after a major defeat. That’s fine and good, but these don’t really tell us what’s really going on.
It is the belief by this author that HaShem is a God of FULL DISCLOSURE, not having secrets as maintained by popular churches. In the book, “A Revised Chronology of the Bible”, the purpose is to show that HaShem hid nothing of His plans or His actions throughout the last 6000 years and this includes the predictions of the End of Days. The ONLY secret that Yeshua maintained was that “No one knew the hour and day of His return”.
Most Christians and Jews accept the Bible as the Truth of God, and as such believe that HaShem created the heavens and the earth. While Evolution Theory has been ingrained in our schools, and teaches that the universe is billions of years old, the Bible does not support that belief and neither does this revised work. It is the belief here that we are fast approaching the 6000 year age mark for BOTH the earth and the universe. As we approach the end, just how close are we to that end?
