About the Book

It is 1985 in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and Aly Reed seems perfectly content remaining on the dairy farm where she has lived her entire life. While keeping busy with work and farm life, Aly tries to ignore those who believe a single, college-educated woman no longer belongs in their community. Still Aly, who has never been a daydreamer, cannot help but wonder what lies beyond the horizon.

Rock Saarinen is reluctant to spend time in the sleepy Northwoods town of Oulu, where he grew up. But when he invites his attorney friend, Josh Martin, for a weekend visit, Rock’s return home becomes anything but boring. After the two men meet Aly one night, Josh falls for her, propelling the two of them into a whirlwind romance that makes waves in Aly’s family and disrupts Josh’s illustrious career. But when Aly uncovers a dark truth from her past, Rock and Josh must help her cope with her new reality. They enlist Aly’s lifelong nemesis, Justin Ferrara, to confirm a decades-old secret, without any idea that they will discover more about themselves than they ever imagined.

The Quarry is a story about love, family, and four people who form an unlikely bond and realize that in the toughest of times, support and friendship can come from the most unexpected places.

About the Author

Alicia Reijo spent her early childhood on a dairy farm in Oulu, Wisconsin. She holds a degree in Radio/TV/Film and has registered three screenplays with the Writers’ Guild of America. Alicia currently lives in Northern Wisconsin where she likes baseball and anything that reminds her of her favorite era, the 1980s. This is her debut novel.
